Paying tribute to the masters of Scandinavian design, Owner Hakan Swahn offers a new interior that is both sleek and comfortable. The soft, warm atmosphere plays host to subtle pendant lighting and intimate booth seating throughout the bar, café and main dining room, where Chef Marcus Samuelsson presents an explosive culinary experience. The cornerstone of Samuelsson’s cuisine is simple: He aims to create sensational combinations of flavor, texture and visual appeal. Indeed, his dishes possess something unique to the young chef who has garnered accolades from The New York Times and the James Beard Foundation, among others. Samuelsson and Aquavit are quite a match, and together they continue to combine the culinary traditions of Sweden and the innovations of New York’s elite chef.
